I don’t think Jen is a good writer. I know I’m in the minority. She comes off folksy, inauthentic, or preachy. I get tired of the “she’s a good writer” posts. No, she’s not. I agree she lacks self awareness and has to be the main character. Always. It must be exhausting.

Do you guys think Big Siss is selfish?

Her early writing made her standout in the devotional /faith market but she’s been insufferable as a writer for years now

I think Jen is a very skilled speaker. She's natural, she knows how to capture an audience, she's funny but can also tug at the heartstrings. I think she's much better live than on-camera where she's seeing her reflection on the phone and starts pulling faces and fussing with her hair. The problem is, I just don't think people are going to big speaking events like they used to. The Woman of Faith tour was a good gig for her and a good use of her skills but is that even touring anymore?

She could probably be a decent circuit speaker for motivational events/business conferences, etc. But there's not a lot of glory in that. I think she'd find it beneath her.

Jen should run for congress. She naturally has the fake and chameleon like qualities needed in politicians and the total lack of shame. She'd also get a lot of support from progressive groups and the narc fuel would be insane for her and really feed into her messiah complex.

Plus it would give her a new central mission that she's desperately in need of instead of trying to keep 2014 going when she was important and successful and not a sad middle aged influencer and shill queen.

I think Jen should get Western Governors University to sponsor her and go back to school. Get an MBA or a Master's in Counseling and do something with that.

I also think the politics idea has some merit for the reasons PP mentioned. That would def. feed her main character need but she'd have to pick a fairly sure thing because she seems to fragile to handle a loss. Come to think of it she seems to fragile to handle criticism. Can she get away with having "her team" delete comments when she's in congress?

Maybe starting small like state rep or state senate or hyper local politics. Not sure if she'd be able to pull of "Mayor of Buda" bc I think ppl there are over her.

LOL. Yeah no. People here are over her. In her mind she's a true local celebrity and while that was semi true at one time, it is not true now. Very sad.

One thing that kinda bothers me is that she writes frequently about having black children, a black boyfriend, and the challenges they face, the need for racial equality - and YET, she raised those children, and chooses to continuing living in one of the whitest areas she can. Why? It is not like Texas is short of POC, why does she not live, and raise her kids in a more diverse area? If it is that important to her.

She just likes to talk, like Kristen.

Heck, Kristen made up crap about our school district (my kids went to school with hers.) She blogged that there was some kind of inequality because our school was a lottery-based system and certain ethnic groups may not know about it.
Honey, they know plenty! Free lunch, etc. The bigotry of low expectations.

If she was so unhappy about how her kids were at our school (and her second son is now CLASS PRESIDENT), maybe she should've moved to Inglewood or Compton or Baldwin Hills.

What is happening right now?!? Constantly touching her face, looking off to the side, whispering, smacking her tongue, speaking slowly… it’s painful to watch.

"Self Care" should be just that- for "self" to see and that's all! No one needs to be recording with a purple face mask on.... while touching and resetting it. So weird.

She’s just so trashy and classless. She’s meeting Ina Gartner and did her hair and harsh makeup like that???

And watching those clips with her cohost. Yikes. It’s just a way to inject more main character in the podcast.

Hmmm I’m a very longtime follower of Jen. I found her family quite interesting in the beginning. I’ve never seen her in person but based on clips of her tours, her tv show, and her other speaking content on socials, I would not say she’s a good speaker at all. This is part of why she’s struggled so much to find a post-Christian mommy audience. Without kid content, people aren’t so interested in her.

I don’t want to be overly critical but she is too fidgety, preening and dramatic. She can’t stand/sit still and deliver a clear, simple message. She’s constantly playing with her hair, wringing her hands and trying to force emotions in a spazzy way. I almost wonder if she has ADHD.

I don’t buy the narrative that she “sees” people. I think she forces her image on people and sees how they can fit into her schemes. That sounds evil but I think like a lot ADHDers, she fixates on her own constantly spinning mind. I don’t think she’s evil and I genuinely would enjoy her having a comeback with good content again. Not sure it’s possible though with the kids wanting their privacy.

She really really wants is to know about how hilarious the new podcast is going to be now that its less about the guests and more about HER. She says the banter with amy is HILARIOUS SHENANIGANS then she shows the most ridiculous boring clip about where she used to work at the mall.
