| Sister got her kids a new puppy. She named her the female version of my son's name. I am so offended. |
| I see you are starting your NYE drinking a little early... |
| Offended? It will be fun to see you getting ripped on this one. |
| You’re being ridiculous. My sons are Max and Oliver. They get so excited when they meet dogs with any variation of their names. It happens all the time! |
That is a little different from your sibling naming their dog Maxi or Olivia. |
|
Like you have a kid named Michael and the puppy is Michelle?
I am really confused why this is offensive. |
|
Like, your son’s name is Joey and your sister named her puppy Josephine?
Who cares. It’s cute. Why do people always create drama by assuming the worst. Maybe she likes the name. Maybe it’s an homage. Maybe her kids drove the decision. Maybe your kid likes this. |
| Try to reframe it, OP? She loves her dog so much and she loves your son so much? Something like that? |
| You should get a female dog and name her your sister's name. |
| So you gave birth to a human and your sister gave birth to a dog? OK. |
I would get a male dog and make it a masculine version of your sisters name. |
| Did she let the kids name it? |
Yes. The kids picked the name. She spelled it so it's the same as my kid. Think Sean and Seana |
|
My former sister-in-law named all of her pets after her nieces and nephews, including naming her cat after my daughter. Her pets don't have masculine or feminine versions of our kids' names; they straight up have the same names.
In my opinion, it is a tad strange, but it is not offensive. I can't imagine being offended. |
| This is so stupid. Who cares? If you think this is a dig at you and/or your kid, either you are nuts or your sister is nuts or both. |
