if kid had covid, how do we make sure they aren't PCR tested

Anonymous
I had recently "said yes to the test" for my HS student. Well, the unlucky kid got it at school in the last week before winter break and I do not want her PCR tested for 90 days because she will have a likely positive if there is still dead virus. How do I communicate that to MCPS???

There's no PCR testing going on in MCPS.

Write to the principal. I hope she feels well.

If you opted in, your child can be randomly tested each week. My HS kid has had several PCR tests since they started testing at our school in mid-November.

Did you inform the school of the positive result? If you did, they should know not to test again for 90 days.

Yes there is. You are wrong.

I had to pull my kids out - just email your principal. The following week they were not on the list.

There is PCR testing. My elementary school student has had 3 PCR tests.

Tell your high school student to decline to take the test. No one is going to hold a kid down and swab their nose.

Am I going to sound like a crazy person if I ask if the PCR test is done in a well-ventilated room with a HEPA filter running and the kids are masked immediately before and after? Yes? I don't care. That needs to be standard.

I filled out the stupid county wide online form since it happened over break. But I will email the principal, her ass't principal and the nurse and hope someone crosses her off the list.

So you're looking for tips on how to sneak your covid positive kid into school?

Huh? Are you really unaware of the fact that you’re not supposed to do repeat pcr testing for 90 days following an infection because of a high chance of a false positive?

Yes, you're a crazy person. You're aware that kids eat lunch together daily, right?
