Strategies to score a delivery window or pickup for Whole Foods or Amazon Fresh?

I'd like to get groceries delivered but cannot seem to book a delivery window or a pickup time at Whole Foods or Amazon Fresh. Happy to do either, and have a big cart ready to check out with both services. Does anyone know which Whole Foods close to NW DC is the best bet for a time slot for delivery or pickup? Happy to use Friendship Heights, Tenleytown, or River Road locations. Would a smaller order be more likely to be successful?

They offer to text you when they have slots. It works. You just sign up and wait.

Drive outside of the DMV. There are plenty to choose from. My annapolis store has plenty all day and few morning ones tomorrow. Afternoon available in Riverdale morning on the 31st.

We flew this week and I am trying to avoid going into the store in case we contracted covid while traveling.

While honorable, wear an N95 and go to the store. 99% of people in DMV did the same and are at the store.

I haven’t used Amazon delivery for a few months, but back then I would snag a slot for mid to late morning by submitting my cart at 5:45 am. Sometimes I would get the groceries at 9 am and sometimes around 11 am.

Hm, weird. I am in NW DC and haven't had this issue since the early days of the pandemic. I just looked and there are a bunch of slots open for WF and Fresh both today and tomorrow delivering to my address. Sometimes the same day are booked out so I generally try to submit for the next day.

This works for me, but not surprisingly, the slots that are left are often at the least desirable times.
