Myfoxdc.com has the story. Scary, what is going on with all the crime? |
Unbelievable. And people wonder why people want private school for their kids!
|
That is lovely. |
Wow. We've just about decided on maryland or private high school - that just about sealed it. |
Yup. And charters. Smaller is better, even at the HS level - just look at Maret. |
OMG--this is just all bad. Former DCPS teacher here. Wow--there's all the 'joy of teaching' in a nutshell, huh? It's all just paid summers, huh? |
There are bad apples in every bushel ...
don't forget abou the Whitman students from a few years ago: http://www.gazette.net/stories/090106/bethnew143311_32009.shtml or the St. John's kid from last year http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/07/30/AR2008073002181.html |
So, wait, let me make sure I've got this right: A student kidnaps his teacher, meaning he will be identified, and his accomplice tries to sexually assault her WHILE DRIVING?
I don't know whether to be more depressed about the brazenness of the crime or the sheer stupidity of the criminals. For crying out loud. |
The student would not have been identified if they had done what they probably were going to do next. She was smart to jump out of the car. |
Was it the teacher's student or a student from the same school? |
It appears that this is not a case of a student targeting a teacher, it just happens that the victim of the crime is a teacher at the school that one of the perpetrators attended. She was assaulted in the middle of the night while leaving work at a part-time job in Adams Morgan.

What is she, a waitress at Chief Ike's? This story is just incredible. So sad and scary. |
This story has nothing to do with the quality of a Wilson education - it's a random crime perpretrated on a Wilson teacher far from school property. Please keep the public vs. private school comments to a dull roar - especially since they have no relevance to this particular incident. |
Actually, I think that they certainly do. The quality of the education certainly has something to do with the quality and general character of the students. Wilson seems more likely to have students who commit violent crimes. The key point is that the PERPETRATOR of the kidnapping, sexual assault and stabbing was a 15 year old WILSON STUDENT. Can you say that about Holton? GDS? |
