Large Round Coffee Table - Kid Friendly

Anonymous
I need a large, round, non wood coffee table. At least 42 inches that is family friendly (ie not marble). I can't seem to find one anywhere? Any one have one they like?

Just curious that you want large round and child friendly, but not wood. What do you expect it to be made from? Not stone, not glass, not wood, not metal. Do you want a plastic coffee table?

Room and Board has several that come with a bunch of top options.

We got a tufted ottoman and keep a tray on it so people can put down drinks.

Ok, responding to myself. Apparently what you want is an upholstered coffee table. I didn't realize that they still made these, they seem rather dated, but they do have them.

We had a consultation with a designer and she recommended quartz as stone is child friendly. I’ve had trouble finding one. The said to stay away from wood as we already have a lot of wood in that room.

NP here. We are in a similar position, with a lot of wood in the room. Do you want child-friendly like a toddler won't need stiches if they trip and hit it, or child-friendly like easy to clean/won't get rings from drinking glasses?

Also, what is your style? There are a lot of options, but it depends on the look of your room.

In the right room, yes, plastic coffee tables are an option. This one is from CB2

Moreso that they can eat their breakfast there, wont' get rings, easy to clean. Our look is fairly transitional with a dark rug, light couches, and wood/brown leather accent chairs.

Recommend this one from World Market - it's inexpensive and really durable, plus it has storage. Comes in silver too. I wound up needing a larger round coffee table and moved this onto our screen porch where it's held up great.

Why on earth would they eat breakfast on the coffee table?

We have a large round faux leather ottoman with storage. It's great. Wipes clean, can put your feet on it. I can toss things in it for a quick clean up on short notice. The top is sturdy and doesn't move easily so you don't have to worry about it sliding off. Got it on wayfair 3 years ago.

The great thing about DCUM is that you can get your parenting choices and your design choices criticized in one place.
