| Just terrible. They should have stopped making these around the year 2000 or so. The Wachowskis need to stop making movies. |
| At least we still have John Wick 4 to look forward to! |
| Terrible in what way, specifically? Was wondering whether to watch it. |
| I’m boycotting this over Morpheus. |
? |
So many flashbacks to the other movies (i.e. low level effort to gobble up screen time). Horrendous cinematography. Really bad plot. This is like a straight to dvd movie sold in the 0.25 bin at walmart. Easily one of the worst films I've seen in the last 10 years, and easily as bad, if not worse, than the 3rd Matrix installment. |
Not OP but I am assuming it’s because they changed actors. |
PP you replied to. Oh no. Matrix 3 was so uninteresting I can't even remember it, even thought I know I watched it! Too bad. I like Keanu
|
| I disagree. The flashbacks in the beginning were clever and used to build in tension - did it really happen or is he actually crazy? Then once it got action-y it was very fun. |
|
It was basically a clip show of the other movies. I sort of enjoyed it once I realized that.
What I can't figure out is why Keanu Reeves agreed to make this. |
PP who liked it - I joked with DH that between the Morpheus/Bug storyline and the gaming sequel storyline, the first half of the movie was a dramatic reenactment of them talking Keanu into reprising his role. Meanwhile he's downing blue pill after blue pill and hitting the treadmill.

Blue pill, red pill, holy crap.....I needed a cyanide pill after watching this movie.
Utterly bizarre and nonsensical. Actions sequences were terrible. There's a part where they fight a French dude with baddies who catch bullets with their teeth, all while the french dude rages about Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook. I mean what an abomination of a movie. I had to turn it off, then got mad because I already wasted 1.5 hours of my life on it, so decided to choke down the rest. |
You clearly aren't OG Matrix - the "French guy" was The Merovingian, who was kind of a big in the previous films. |
I did wonder if the Warner Brothers conversation about their contractual obligations was actually true. |
^^big deal |
