| While I don’t necessarily disagree with his acquittal (albeit, he should have been charged and found guilty of lesser crimes and sent to prison for many years), what is deeply disturbing is the fact that this guy had an audience with a former President, received accolades and job offers from members of Congress, is now being hailed a hero and paraded around at conservative conventions, all while he is waving and smiling. He shot and killed several people (again, albeit, not upstanding citizens and they won’t be missed by many) but WTF? The nation is treating him as a hero and he is readily accepting the role. We are so messed up. |
|
The only people holding up this messed-up murderer - you can tart it up anyway you like, he murdered two people - as a hero are right wingers, a group of people currently engaged in a mass delusion; only fascists see a freaky little murderer and puncher of women as a hero.
He’s really “laying low” just like he said he would. /s |

When is the federal trial over the illegal straw buy going to happen?
Rittenhouse gave his friend money from his stimulus check to illegally buy that AR for him. Straw buys are illegal. |
No, “the nation” is not “treating him as a hero” — SOME people and some rather specific groups of people are. One solution is to vote — and to be informed about who and what you are voting for, especially on a local level. Another way is to push back when and where you can against these things that disturb you. I’ll add that if those who have more power, resources, and clout don’t push back, those who lack access to such things will either be doomed, revolt, or both. We’re at a critical turning point. I hope that as a country we can handle it wisely. |
| I hope he is doomed to a life of poverty and failure. He’s an embarrassment and a murderer. |
I have to disagree with the posters calling him a murderer. I followed the trial pretty closely and think the jury got it right. The only thing Rittenhouse is really guilty of is showing poor judgement by placing himself in high-risk situation. |
Sorry, that rioting/assaulting is not a god given right. |
Agreed, but it is his right to do so. |
Only the GOP and right wingers are treating him like a hero. It's grotesque. |
Neither he nor the rioters had a right to be there. There was a curfew in effect. They were all breaking the law just by being there. |
Amen, sister (or brother)! We all have a choice to make. Vote these bastards out, or give up our country to them. |

| Fun Fact - Kyle and Greta Thunberg both share the same birthday/age. |
Thunberg is trying to save the world and Rittenhouse punches women in the head, thinks he’s starring in a first person shooter game. |
