| I have many, but here’s the latest: Yesterday I vacuumed two rooms with my bagless Dyson before realizing I’d removed the container to empty it and never replaced it. So I was sucking dust and dog hair off the floor and merrily spewing it into the air, I guess. |
| I only iron on demand. Years ago I wasted hours washing and ironing everyone's clothes but many were never even worn. |
| In pretty much all ways. The only reason I own an iron is for my kids' perler beads. |
Yeah, if something needs to be ironed we usually take it to the cleaner’s. I grew up in a house with a built-in ironing board, which made the process much less onerous. |
| Every way. |
Guys, get a garment steamer. Handheld is good. Tuck it in the closet. Problem solved. |
|
When the kids were little and we had alphabet books, I couldn't understand how they knew the letter I was for an iron. I didn't own one, they had never seen me use one or heard me talk about it, how did they know?
Also, around the same time (toddler years), my philosophy was to just wear slippers, rather than constantly clean the kitchen floor which was disgusting and always had food on it. |
Ha! |

Well, I think my undergraduate and graduate degrees, my six-figure salary, my savings, my general disinterest in earning or holding such a stupid label disqualify me.
DH and I keep a nice home and like to cook. I think that makes us people who keep a nice home and like to cook, and doesn’t make us “domestic gods.” |
OP here. I have all those things above, too. I also have a sense of humor. |
I don't own an iron. Or a hair dryer. |
| The only thing I’m good at is turning the lights off at night. And keeping tp stocked. |
It’s amazing that you have all those things and still feel the need to disparage other people over something so trivial. |

My nemesis is cleaning and tidying.
We are a family of 4 (tween and teen) in a house that is too small for us, most of us have various degrees of ADHD, and it's really had to have "a place for everything and everything in its place". My husband hoards, so the basement and garage are hard to use. The clutter is just everywhere, which makes cleaning take longer than it should, since we have to lift things and go around things. And we do clean: we have dust mite and pollen allergies. But it's such a pain! Also, we have a beautiful, long-haired, double coated dog that unfortunately sheds like he wants to donate fur for orphans' coats, and a few hours after we vacuum... there's hair on the floor. Thank goodness we're not allergic to him. |
| Not a good cook. My. mom was an amazing cook and there was always many homemade dishes on the table and in the fridge. I can make a few, but not well, and not all at once. I hate hosting for that reason. I want to learn to be better for my kids. |
