| I haven't had a Honeybaked ham in probably 30 years. My mom used to sometimes buy them for holidays and I always remember them being served warm. I was looking into Honeybaked for this year and their website says you're supposed to serve it cold and they advise not heating them before serving. It seems so weird to serve a cold ham at a holiday dinner. That would seem more apropos for a summer backyard party. For all you Honeybaked fans, do you serve them hot or cold? |
| I prefer it warm or room temperature. I usually put slices in the oven to warm, then serve on a tray (to avoid reheating the whole ham) |
| Hot. When we’ve gotten them there are directions on how to heat it up. A cold ham with that gelatinous glaze seems unpleasant.. |

This is from their website:
https://www.honeybaked.com/meal-prep-and-serving Honey Baked Ham® and Turkey Breasts are fully cooked and ready to enjoy. For the very best flavor, take the Ham or Turkey Breast out of the refrigerator to stand for 30 minutes before serving. Refrigerate unused portions immediately. We recommend that you do not heat your Honey Baked Ham® or Turkey Breast – they are made to enjoy right from the refrigerator. If you prefer your meat warmed, gently heat on low heat, only by the slice, not heating the entire ham or turkey breast. Heating may cause the meat to dry out and lose flavor. |
| All the great sugary stuff disappears when you heat it. |
| Cold or room temp. |
| We had one at thanksgiving and there directions to warm the whole thing in the oven. If it gets too hot the glaze will melt off, but gently warmed worked fine. |
| Follow the directions and take it out of the refrigerator 30 minutes before serving (it'll be closer to room temp than cold). DELICIOUS |
|
That is so weird, I swear the hams used to come with a sugar glaze packet you were specifically supposed to put on before you put it in the oven so it would melt all over the outside.
Did they used to sell the hams uncooked or am I being Mandela Effected? |
| Room temperature |
| I’m not a huge ham fan in general, but hot ham is especially unappealing to me. |
| OP here. So y'all are telling me that it's good to serve cold ham at dinner? I don't know why this seems to weird to me but I've never served a cold meat before and the idea just seems to strange to me. But if it tastes great cold then maybe it's worth taking a chance. |
| They are best heated and then served at room temperature. |
Ham can be great cold. Serve it on a yeast roll or biscuit with some cheese and a creamy honey mustard sauce. |
Not cold, ROOM TEMPERATURE. And yes, that is how it is meant to be served. It is in their directions and several posters have told you the same. But, you know, you do you. |
