Yeah, if you're a terrible cook, this. No question. |
| I would like to just do a delivery since the parents are both bedridden, but the request specifically asked for home cooked meals. I think the family is already planning on doing restaurant deliveries and probably want to mix it up. Chili sounds easy enough. What vegetables would go with this as a side? Any other ideas? |
Don’t worry about vegetables. Chili, sour cream, cheese, chopped green onions, corn chips. Maybe send some nice oranges for dessert. |

Chili is a good choice. Don’t forget the fixings (bag of shredded cheese, sour cream etc). Add store bought fresh bread or cornbread.
Baked pasta dishes (baked penne, ziti etc) are also easy. Add store bought garlic bread and bagged salad. Enchiladas are another good choice. I’ve also done a pot roast/carrots/potatoes several times in the winter. Hearty, easy, and something everyone tends to like. |
| Roast chicken, baked potatoes (with butter/sour cream on side), green beans. Store bought pie. |
| Baked ziti was the first dish I learned to make. It comes out perfectly every time. |
| I think Rottisorie chicken, nice loaf of French bread and a good veggie side is welcome. You get so many casseroles. |
| Balduccis or Olive Garden - so two platters of fettucini pasta and heavy meatball pasta, bag of salad, and some rolls |
| Get a ready to heat meal from Wegmans or Costco. |
Just do delivery. Reach out to the family. Or, get an uber eats or other generic card. |
| Turkey meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans (just don't overcook those) are hard to screw up. |
