Aniston - Hollywood Reporter - kids

Anonymous
From THR
Jennifer Aniston “You have no clue what’s going with me personally, medically, why I can’t … can I have kids?” They don’t know anything, and it was really hurtful and just nasty.

I remember hearing you talk with Gloria Steinem about how it can feel like your value as a woman is tied to your marital status and whether or not you’ve procreated, to which Gloria said …

She said, “I guess we’re in deep shit.” (Laughs.) It’s the same with Dolly Parton; Dolly Parton never had kids. But are people giving her shit for it? No, no one’s tried to put her in a white picket fence.”

*****
Jen is still talking about kids! And states no one criticizes Dolly Parton for not having kids. Perhaps that’s because Dolly has never said she wanted kids or dreams her future on a beach with kids.

If she didn’t want the speculation then she should have stated long ago she can’t have kids. And with her money she could have had a surrogate have her kids. Or just state she never really wanted kids. She just needs to stop talking about it.

How about YOU need to stop talking about it if it bothers you?

You seem unhealthily fixated on this.

I don't follow celebrity news and wouldn't have know about this except for your post about... something about Jennifer Aniston and kids (lack thereof).

Who on earth cares about this, apart from you?

It was reported TODAY so apparently some still care about, especially Aniston.

I agree with OPs last comment though. Aniston's shtick for THIRTY YEARS has been will she-won't she have kids. Enough already. She knows she doesn't want any, let that be enough and stop booking magazine covers talking about potential kids. Move on.

I think you missed the point. Stop talking about her body.

As soon as she stops putting the body on covers and inviting comments.

If she didn't do an interview every year about 'I'm not pregnant! I want kids but nooo or Justin and I are thinking about this adoption but the time is a little shaky'.

Do an article or cover on your latest project, the conservation committee you're chairing, your dreams for the next five years.

Let's go ahead and quote that whole part of the interview, shall we?

So, how do you feel the attention paid to your private life has impacted your professional one?

Well, people certainly project onto you and all that, but my job is to go, “Listen, I’ll show you what I’m capable of, and you decide if you want to subscribe.” So, you disappear as much as you can, you have fun, you take on these weird roles, you don’t give a shit, you enjoy yourself, you remember that you have a gorgeous group of friends and your life is blessed and you do the best that you can. I used to take it all very personally — the pregnancy rumors and the whole “Oh, she chose career over kids” assumption. It’s like, “You have no clue what’s going with me personally, medically, why I can’t … can I have kids?” They don’t know anything, and it was really hurtful and just nasty.

She didn't just bring it up out of the blue, this was a discussion about the past, and was mostly asked about by the interviewer. "Enough already" needs your be directed to the media. Not her.

"The body"?! Inviting Comments?

Do better.

People. She’s 52. She’s not having kids. Get over it.

She basically is confirming it's a medical issue, that she couldn't have kids. Sheesh, people are so mean about this very personal issue.

This seems to be the first time she has said this. It sounds like she medically couldn’t have kids. I recall in the Vanity Fair interview after her divorce from Pitt, there was a mention of a nursery room in their house. They had every intention of having kids. It sounds like she encountered fertility issues.

Reporters ask and she answers. What's the problem!

Women should not be told to sit down and STFU but I kind of wish Jen would STFU.

Eh, I disagree. I saw the headline this morning, too, and my first thought was that she needs to stop talking about having kids, not having kids, wanting kids, not wanting kids. Enough already. She's 52 and here we are having the same interview she gave 20 years ago.
