I’ve rented a house in Easton on the water over Xmas break and would like some recommendations for things to do in Easton and nearby.
Also, can you use the amenities at the Chesapeake Hyatt Cambridge such as the mini golf, indoor pool, if you are not staying there? I assume st least you can go to their restaurants. Thanks! |
Why would they let people do this? Why didn’t you just stay there? |
| OP here - I’d love to, really I would, but I have a special needs child who is medically fragile and I need to cook all his meals. Some places allow it - since I’m in this position I’ve found some resorts allow it. Maybe I’ll call instead of getting snarky remarks. |

There is an Amish market in Easton where you can pick up some good food.
There is a free zoo in Salisbury that is quite nice. It is in the city park and I believe open every day. The St Michaels Maritime museum is fun for kids. A lot of the displays are outside so you walk around and look at skipjacks etc. It can be fun riding the Oxford Bellevue ferry. There is a nominal charge. The Ward Museum is in Salisbury if anyone is interested in art. I tend to find this museum kind of boring. |
| I'm the PP, the Ward Museum has wild fowl carvings. |
| The playground in Easton is really nice. There is a paint your own pottery place there too |
|
Kayaking, cycling, you can go on a boat trip from st Michaels.
The ferry to Oxford is closed off season. There is an art museum in Easton. And a nice walking trail through the town. St Michaels has s Christmas gingerbread competition. |

Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is a nice day trip. You can hike or drive the loop. The driving trail has specific stop points to stop and see different kinds of environment and wildlife.
Cambridge, MD, is a sweet town with a long fishing bridge -- you can walk out over the river (or fish if you like). |
This. Also, the Harriet Tubman Museum is nearby. |
| There's a bowling alley/ arcade |
The ferry is closed during winter. There is a museum and trail on Harriet Tubman. Easy to find. |

What ages are the kids? I summer in Oxford. There’s lots to do.
And start each day with Rise Up Coffee. The best
|
| Bonheur Ice Cream is cute and they do an afternoon tea set |
| What a snooze fest. |
LOL. “Summer” in Oxford. Rise Up is the best though. |
