Oh, so you, an anonymous poster, knows more about this than our IC, and other well known computer security experts. I'll take their word over your's. |
What in my post makes you think I'm a troll? And I did not explicitly disagree with any of your responses...in fact I stated them in my post above (well, except for the last one). Yes, journalism should seek to find holes. And yes, I don't think what's been presented is definitive...and no, I don't expect that while an investigation is ongoing the IC should share everything they know if there is concern it might compromise the investigation. I stated above, and I'll restate, that I think further investigation is warranted. I don't think we know everything yet. I do think that there are some people in government, including Trump, who know more and it maybe be why they are willing to be more definitive in stating that it's Russia. From a layperson's perspective, I do think that circumstantial evidence points strongly toward Russia as the most likely actor here. Beyond that, it's a little bit strange that you're calling me troll. The alternative explanation the sites you shared is espousing is that the IC is pointing the finger at Russia in order to precipitate a cold war and possibly WWIII...because they stand to personally benefit. Yes, I think the IC can be shady. But no, I haven't lost so much faith in our government institutions that I believe that the POTUS, PEOTUS, and Congress are conspiring with the IC to start another cold war in order to line their pockets. |

McClatchy has a very in-depth article about investigations into Trump-Russia ties today:

Nothing to see here.
Move along. |

There is plenty. Unfortunately, we will learn the details a bit too late.

From McClatchy article:
The BBC reported that the FBI had obtained a warrant on Oct. 15 from the highly secretive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court allowing investigators access to bank records and other documents about potential payments and money transfers related to Russia. One of McClatchy’s sources confirmed the report. Susan Hennessey, a former attorney for the National Security Agency who is now a fellow at the Brookings Institution, said she had no knowledge that a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrant had been issued. However, she stressed that such warrants are issued only if investigators can demonstrate “probable cause” that a crime has been committed and the information in Steele’s dossier couldn’t have met that test. “If, in fact, law enforcement has obtained a FISA warrant, that is an indication that additional evidence exists outside of the dossier,” she said. |
Wait, no! Don't tell me - the IC might know more than they want to reveal? That cannot be! |
Or maybe timing will be just perfect... Trump will have time to destroy the GOP brand but possibly not the USA as a whole. (the alternate reality would have been some scandal falling onto HRC and having similar effect to Democratic Party) |
| Or an anvil falling, a la the road Runner cartoon. |
So is someone able to determine/verify if a FISA warrant has been issued? |
I thought one of the related articles linked about thirty pages back said that four were requested, but only two were granted. I can no longer remember which article, though. |
| There was an article that indicated it had been granted in October. |
| American Democracy is a joke. Sheeple are waking up to it now. |
| No, this president is a joke. We will come through this mess stronger and wiser. |

Timing is everything here
