| Wouldn't Kailyn's baby be assumed to be Javi's since she was still married to him when she got pregnant? Isn't that how it works in some states? |
It's if the baby is born while you are married. |
| Oh my god Jenelle is a psycho! This reunion episode just showed it even more |
So if the couple gets divorced before she pops out the kid, the husband is not the presumed father? |
Yes. The law is generally babies born within the marriage. They've been divorced for several months now. |
| Interesting since I would think it would only matter if the baby was conceived during the marriage, not born. |
Wouldn't matter anyway. First, it is only a presumption IF Kailyn puts no father down on the birth certificate AND she is married at the time of birth. In that case, it is still a REButtable presumption - so a paternity test would rebut that presumption. |
| Wow Dr Drew never calls the girls out. But tonight he wasn't having Jenelle's story that Nathan is still in love with her! Too bad it took 7 years to get to this point... |
| So now the truth comes out as to why Jenelle left the reunion. She was never sick or hungry. It was all about David and his teeny peeny not matching up to Nathan. |
| Look, I love little Isaac as much as the next person and think he's adorable and sweet and precocious, but a 6.5-year-old who recognizes rhyming words and not amazing, or a "future rapper." Loved that Dr. Drew (for as much as I hate him) tried to positively attribute that skill to Jo, the once wannabe rapper. Kail of course had to stoneface him, as all positive qualities of her children must be a direct reflection of her, or mysteries. |
I don't think it's cool to criticize her for being proud of her child. Plus, I interpreted her silence as being embarrassed of Jos rapping career. I do feel for Vee. Jo better stick with her. |
You're right--so many other more important things to criticize her for. What was I thinking? I hope she realizes that most of Isaac's success will likely be in SPITE of her behavior, though, not because of it. She is slowly morphing into her mother. I wonder if Suzi feels proud of her child? |
--David is creepy and controlling af-- |
Oops, meant to say *UBT* is creepy and controlling af |
I used to think Dr. Drew was just too lazy to watch the episodes and was a bad host. Now I think he's a dangerous host, especially with the pro-safe sex messages he spits out. It makes him look trustworthy, yet he clearly supports this dangerous, controlling relationship and pushes Barb to "give Jace back." I actually met Dr. Drew many years ago and worked directly with him setting up a discussion panel on teen/young adult health issues at my university. He was very knowledgeable and down-to-earth, and gave solid advice, even if the people asking the questions didn't like the answers (they basically wanted to be told that binge drinking until blackout every weekend was probably okay). He even talked about healthy relationships and encouraged one person to get out of the relationship they described because it was unhealthy and obsessive! If he watched even one episode with only Jenelle's segments, he would see that that's the advice she needs to hear from an "expert," and that there are young women watching who could be in a similar situation. MTV really blows its own horn that these shows impact the teen pregnancy rate (questionable at best). But if we give them that credit, we should also look at the domestic violence rate among young people--this is how it begins. Jenelle is freaking ON STAGE in the middle of an interview and David is texting her to tell her what to do. Why would she even take her phone out there with her? (unless it was staged, which is also a possibility). |
