Some of the children do seem interested in a career in the industry. Pax and Maddox served as assistants on their mother’s movie. And Vivienne served as an assistant for a Broadway play and seems interested in musical theater. They do have connections through their mother, but their father has more industry connections and has his own production company, so if they are interested in a career in the industry, it’s not a smart move to shun him like they are.

At some point all these kids, but especially the younger ones, will become estranged from both parents.

I doubt it. The kids have a very codependent relationship with their mother. That's hard to break free of, especially if it's all you've ever known. At least Zahara went away to college.

Not all 18 year olds are planning to go to college, and that is fine. And it's not that rare for someone to change their name when they are legally able to.

She will coax those kids to do as she did. She used Voight for his connections until she got her first big break/Girl Interrupted role. And then disavowed him. Remember it was Pitt who encouraged Jolie to make amends with her dad so their children would know their grandfather. But that never seemed to take off.

I read an article recently which extensively quoted Jolie's former nanny. If all those things said were true, she had a traumatic childhood. Nanny said that Jolie's mom couldn't bear to look at Jolie because she looked so much like Voight, who had cheated on her/left her for a younger woman. She and James lived in a nice apartment, but her mom sequestered Jolie in a separate apartment upstairs, everything was completely white, walls and carpet, and was cared for by a revolving set of nannies throughout the day. And, of course, she also turned them both against their father. Again, if true, it's all really messed up.
