| Moving back to the DC areas this summer and looking for good junior tennis academies in the Montgomery county area. Have a 10 year old who plays competitive tennis a looking for an academy that has a good youth program and knows about tournaments, serious about development, tournaments etc … |
| Isn't the best the JTCC in College Park? |
| There is also Ossa tennis academy which seems to be a place for serious players. |
| Try Naval Academy in Annapolis. |
| Highly recommend JTCC. The coaches are wonderful (and really nice people). The atmosphere is very positive and unpretentious. The kids work hard, get a lot of support, and have fun. I also like that JTCC has many community events…my kids are looking forward to volunteering for some of them once they get older. |

I also hear JTCC was a good one. My daughter trains 4 times a week and we want to be able to keep this up when we are back in the States. Looks like a number of good Tennis players started out at the JTCC.
Someone also mentioned Aspen Hill Tennis club as being a good option. |
| How old is your child and what is her/his UTR? |
12 and UTR is 8 |
That can't be right. The #1 ranked 12&U female player in the US only has a UTR rating of 7-point-something and the top ranked 12&U boy has a 9.48 UTR. If your 12 year old truly has a UTR of 8, he should be in the top 20 in the country, or she should be the top 12&U girl in the country. If that's the case, you wouldn't be relying on the collective wisdom of DC Urban Mom to figure out where to train. |

^^
WhT your kids UTR |
| Tennis Central is solid. |
No. There is no comparison with the serious places, such as JTCC and OSSA. |
