Wegmans “Mother Sauce” and other go to short cuts

My biggest convenience grocery item is Wegmens thin chicken breast cutlets. So I grabbed a Mother sauce to mix thinks up. I was disappointed with Mother Sauce because I was expecting a Marsala sauce but I just added a little Marsala wine and voila.

I’d love a similar chicken piccata sauce. Anyone have any grocery store favorites or secrets?

I like their finishing butters for quick garlic bread or on top of steak, fish etc.

Cool steak on the George Foreman grill, put some shallot thyme butter on it while it rests etc

Also like their cheddar cheese sauce in the fresh pasta area for fast baked Mac and cheese.

Is the mother sauce bad? Have been thinking of trying it.

It’s a good brown sauce. A little too “meaty” for me but others love it. I cut it with chicken broth or Marsala depending on what I’m making.
