I am sorry if this is a dumb question, but I just took a short quick hot shower after my transfer. Is it safe to take a hot shower after embryo transfer? I don't think I am overheating the embryo because showers cannot overheat you and I am not in a sauna. I just needed to take a shower after being in the procedure room and office.
Sorry for the anxious question but the 2 week wait is hard. |
| You already took the shower. Why ask now? |
| Sorry but is it okay? |
| OP here, please don't give me sarcastic answers. I just need to know if other people have showered after. |
| I’m pretty positive the day after we conceived our third kid I sat in the hot tub of a Chicago hotel for about four hours. It’ll happen if it happens. All you can do is hope and pray. |
Call your doctor. |
| You're fine OP. If you're going to get anxious about it take lukewarm showers for the next two weeks. Good luck! |
| Good luck! |

It's fine. But please seek help for your anxiety.
I've been through IVF and know how much of a mindf*ck it is. |
| It’s fine. If embryos were that fragile, no one would be able to reproduce. |
| OP - do you take medication for your anxiety? |
| Don't you think they would have warned you if a normal shower would jeopardize your transfer? |
| You likely did more damage to your skin than the embryo. Your body is made to protect the embryo and it should be fine. Good luck! |
Totally fine, OP, and don't stress about being "overanxious" either. It's perfectly normal to feel a little freaked out by anything and everything at this point in the process, you're not a basket case, promise. The hot shower won't hurt anything. I continued to take my usual hot baths nightly after my successful transfer and it didn't make any difference at all! Good luck - I hope you have a sticky embryo!

I don’t think you can overheat in the shower especially if it is not super long. Try to relax. I’ve been there and been anxious too.
Good luck! |
