A commiseration/vent thread. Kid came home from daycare today with a cold. My parents arrived at my sister's house today and we were supposed to meet up tomorrow, but of course I've told them not to come and given toddler colds, I expect we'll be stuck at home without seeing family until the weekend.
At least I already had the PTO scheduled? |
| So what. A holiday where everyone gorges. Stupid. |
| We missed Halloween. I ordered four great costumes for myself, husband and two kids and was so looking forward to Halloween after it pretty much being canceled last year. Toddler and baby got colds. |
| Would you be comfortable settling for a covid rapid test? I’d be so bummed to miss thanksgiving over a cold too. |
| I’m sorry, OP. Last month my husband had to miss my baby sister’s wedding (he’s known her since she was seven) because my son had a bad cold. My grandparents were going to be at the wedding and there was just no way to bring my son. |
| So sorry, OP. The rapid test isn’t a bad idea. |
| Sorry OP. Grab a fresh, pre brined turkey at TJ first thing in morning, and a disposable tray with handles and box of turkey bags at Safeway. You will need flour for bag, cornstarch for gravey. Good luck. |
| Just get a test. It’s probably a cold. |
+1 This should be automatic by now. And he might be better by Thurs or Friday (assuming it's not covid and he doesn't have a fever). Just mask up. |
| Just push it back to the weekend and do a second get together |
You don’t make everyone sick. |
Go get tested at a Curative, you'll have results in like 12 hours. |
Exactly. Jesus people. Why are all these threads about whether or not you should go to Thanksgiving when you’re sick? Covid or cold, nobody wants it. Stay home. |
| Why can't dh stay back with kid and you go see your family? |
I was with you for sec, but then thought what if OP had covid but didn't know it yet. |
