Best place for you to live in the USA - NYTimes interactive quiz

Thought this would be fun:

I live in Potomac, and once I selected for Northeast, with my other filters, I got North Potomac (#6), Ellicot City (#8) and Potomac (#14), which was oddly gratifying.

Ugh, damn paywall.

I live in the DC area and love it, but want to live in Denver long term. I'm too calm for DC but probably too uptight for Denver...however, I would LOVE the outdoor culture.

This would be right up your alley then- you can filter for mountains, trees, air quality, amount of snow, etc. along with: schools, live music, commute, diversity, politics, and so on.

Denver fan PP here -- I love that there's a filter for air quality! When I was deciding on posts abroad, I had a spreadsheet column for air quality.

NYT is telling me Maine, a thousand times Maine. Upstate NY if Maine doesn’t work out.

Lol it said Somerset MD which is like 2 blocks from where we lived for 10 years. Other top ones were Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Bethesda.

Without clicking NE the top choice was Seattle, which is the place we always wanted to live but never managed to do it.

Yeah I got Vermont, Maine, a couple places in New Jersey, and then some Montgomery County places.

I never thought about Seattle and Silver Spring having much in common before, but I guess I can see it now.

I got Seattle and Portland Maine. Two places where I have seriously considered moving. Maybe some day!
