| Just got flyer for it. Trying to envision where it’s located. Is it an abbreviated size from the DC location? |
| Across from Mon Ami Gabi. |
| In that block of Woodmont between Bethesda Ave. and Elm Ave., which I think is all closed off as a streetery now? I am also curious about how big it is. |
| It replaced the Indian restaurant. I don't think it was huge. |
The Serena and Lily around the corner is appointment only, and the salesperson there told me that the new Room & Board will be, too
I like to spontaneously browse! |
| How big will it be? There was one that opened up in an area we visit a couple years ago, I was really disappointed by the selection. Seemed like it was a pillow and accessories store with a small furniture showroom. |
| website says 3900 square feet |
What? Why? |
crowd control? I don’t think it is covid related because all serena and lily stores are set up this way. but the room and board on U St lets people walk in. |
I really hate the S&L policy. I've been twice and it's annoying to have to schedule several days in advance to go to a store. They had an "open house" on Saturday, like it was a big deal to open the doors to customers. I really hope Room and Board doesn't do that - in fact I was planning to go tomorrow because I have to be in Bethesda for something else. I peeked in the windows last week and it looked fairly small. It's next door to Anthropology. |
| The flyer they sent encouraged dropping by (I think they’ll enter you into a raffle) so I really doubt they have that policy, at least for now. |
The DC room and board is walk in |
| it is really small and it isn't very fun. It has little of thei9r inventory so I am annoyed that when you want to look at something they show you the website. |
| I went yesterday, yes it is walk in. It is quite small for a furniture store, although I haven't been to the DC one so don't know how it compares. 2 couches, some chairs, a couple of wood pieces, and lots of side tables, pillows, accessories. A wall of fabric and a big fabric sample case, so that's handy. A back corner with some of their outdoor items. |
That’s what I was imaging, they have this style of store in other markets. Or maybe it’s the direction they’re going for all new locations. Not as much fun, sitting in furniture and seeing dimensions in person is helpful. Throw pillows I could order online and return, don’t need a store for impulse buys. |
