| Do you go through ACA or something else? Do you arrange withdrawals to have a very low income? |
| 2400 a month for two of us in MD mid tier plan bought in the exchange we are in our late 50’s no major health issues |
| $1,890 a month in CO for 5 of us. Bought on the exchange but not subsidized. I'm really happy with our insurance too. |
what type? HMO? PPO? We are in MD, early/mid50s, two kids -- hmo $1100/mi high deductible bronze plan |
Is this subsidized? I’m wondering if it’s possible to draw money from accounts that don’t generate income so we have a AGI. |
| I'm 56 and single. Gold plan Carefirst/BCBS PPO w/$500 deductible on the DC exchange is $1000/month, unsubsidized. |
*low AGI |
This is a deal. |
ik,r? I have great coverage. I upped it from Silver to Gold when I became a more intensive healthcare user a couple of years ago. I can see all my favorite specialists. I work part time/occasionally and always end up making a bit too much for subsidies, but my other expenses are so low that I don't really mind. |
| DH is retired fed. We are both 55. We kept federal BC/BS. We pay around $500ish a month. |
Is he a special retirement group? I thought minimum age is 56 or 57. |
|
Not aca.
$5300/month for 4 of us. Ppo |
DP: Always check the gold plans. There's weird quirks where they are sometimes less costly than bronze or silver. Check all levels. |
He is. |

Nothing. We do gig work and write off so many expenses we're always able to keep our AGI under the limit.
That said, we chose a crappy bronze plan with a massive deductible. Mid-50s and no health issues, so it's working so far. |
