Dem that works campaigns —

Excellent listen/read from GY’s strategists on how they won.

TMac was meanwhile run by Michael Halle — ex pete and hrc, married to the chick that supplied the Iowa caucus app that melted down.

No wonder we got crushed. The talent difference is massive.

It's pretty easy.

Youngkin played the aw-shucks southern gentlemen while the right wing echo chamber pounded CRT and other BS through its media outlets and social media promotion.

This part resonated with me and is one reason I was so drawn to Youngkin:

"And when he got in [the race], our advice was: you don't have to choose to be a Huckabee Republican or a Cruz Republican or a Rand Paul Republican or a Trump Republican or Romney Republican. You don't have to make that choice. You're a Youngkin Republican. Plant your post and that’s your guidepost, and be your own guy."

Nah. Youngkin was himself - nothing more, nothing less. Voters like his authenticity. TMac is anything but authentic.

Yeah this makes people feel better about being the party of trump, even though there is no appreciable policy difference. You can be kinda selfish and feel good about it.

Dumb take.

I don’t think Youngkin and McAuliffe are that different.

With every post, you're displaying your arrogance, ignorance, and resentment. Sorry you lost.

Youngkin’s win was due to good old fashioned Southern Strategy. They can try to dress it up all that want, but it doesn’t change reality.

I argued at the time that Jennifer McClellan was the only Democratic candidate who stood to defeat Youngkin. McAuliffe was clearly a washed-up hack and the other Democratic candidates were preposterous: Carroll Foy’s campaign was entirely about her race and gender and Carter was an immature, nutty socialist. Unfortunately for the Democrats, they let McAuliffe buy the nomination, only to confront someone with more money and infinitely better political instincts.

I have no doubt this makes you feel better about the terrible campaign McAuliffe waged, but it is both delusional and self-defeating. Wise up.

Hey, the Southern Strategy was awfully effective for Republicans the first time.

Excuse after ridiculous excuse... when are Dems going to simply admit no one wanted what they were selling? People are on to them.

Given that nearly half of Virginia voters cast a ballot for McAuliffe, I’d say a lot of people preferred McAuliffe to Youngkin. You’re acting like the election was a blow-out when in reality Youngkin won by less than 2 points.
