My kid has an 8 AM medical procedure on her birthday and I’d like to take her out for a special breakfast beforehand (she’s allowed to eat). We’ll be at Children’s National in Fairfax, which is right at the Beltway and Rt 50. We’ll be heading down there from McLean. The only restaurant I know (and love) there is Elephant Jumps. Everything I found so far was so-so. Nothing extra special. |
Anita's breakfast burritos!
I sense you are looking for something fancier than this, but if it were me I'd take her to the Original Pancake House in Falls Church. It's a family favorite and easy kid pleaser, and a stack of pancakes with strawberries and whip cream would be a huge treat for my DD.
We like Ted’s Bulletin. Good homemade pop tarts.
Definitely Ted's Bulletin in Mosaic.
That’s kind of an early breakfast so I’m not sure what would be open. Could you guys have a lunch after the procedure?
This came to my mind too. Not fancy but my kids think it’s the best |
First Watch
It closed down in Jan but I really loved amphora diner in Vienna.
I would look and see what's offered at the Ritz in Tysons.
Silver Diner on Gallows near Lee Hwy. Very close to the Inova complex. They have tented outdoor seating, plus the indoor booths with tableside juke boxes. Bring a pocketful of quarters and say yes to whipped cream on everything.
Founding farmers
Silver fiber is right by there.Ted’s bulliten is also good, but wouldn’t be open until after you are done.
Silver Diner or Founding Farmers.
I think with that timing you'll be very limited by what's open. Silver Diner will probably by the best choice.
