| Piggybacking off the previous thread on reffing. Are there certain clubs you refuse to ref for? Or clubs that notoriously have the most awful or the most polite parents? With refs being so in need right now, i would assume you can afford to be picky with which games you sign up for. |
| Maybe find a refereeing forum for this post. |
| The biggest bribers |
No, this is a very relevant to this forum. Maybe parents would control themselves a bit better if they knew refs were declining to ref their kids’ games because of the parents. I |
| We had a game cancelled this weekend. It never occurred to me that refs did not want to ref because of what team we were playing. |
what makes you assume it wasn't your club they were avoiding? |
Haha. I guess it still hasn't occurred to you that it might be because of your club?! |
You think all 3-5 of the refs reading this forum can speak to all refs? The parents aren't going to change their behavior unfortunately. |
|
Parents may change their behavior if:
-their own kid is reffing or all parents are required to ref -coaches start being carded for parents' behavior -parents are banned from fields |
It's not the parents that need to change their behavior, it's the refs. And it's only by parents providing direct feedback that this will happen. |
Ohhhhhh. Got it. The obscene screaming all game is direct feedback. I had been wondering. |
| What games didn’t have refs this weekend? All Arlington-Villarreal ECNL-RL games were canceled. What else? |
That was an error by the ref assignor and not due to the ref shortage. |
For EDP we've been having three most games, but a few times just the ARs show up. It seems to work well with them just splitting the field and each reffing a half. I actually think the quality of reffing has been pretty good this year. |
Assignor shortage? |
