| DS is looking to enter college this spring. He has some community college credits but is not a transfer. Where can he easily get in? He has no test scores and hs GPA of 3.8. He is interested in outdoorsy schools. And he'd need financial aid. I know this is like looking for a unicorn. I know everything you want to say. Keep it to yourself. Suggestions only please! |

How much is your budget? Would you be eligible for need-based aid at private universities - try their Net Price Calculators. Any preferences for size and geographic area?
3.8 is a decent GPA. Assuming that is from high school, how rigorous was his schedule, how many APs? |

| You will need to start googling spring freshman admission. Not all colleges offer this, though many do. There doesn't seem to be a list. My guess is that many state universities would have this option, though it sounds like they might not be affordable for you. |

Not sure about “easy,” but University of Colorado? Colorado State? Sewanee?
You might also look at places like Fort Lewis College in Durango. |

| Budget is about 22000 including r and b. He's very outdoorsy so looking to go somewhere with outdoor options. |

As suggested above, look at Ft Lewis College in Durango and also MSU Bozeman. He would need a merit scholarship from these schools, probably plus the federal student loan, to bring out of state cost down to mid 20s. Likewise worth checking out the scholarship websites for U Maine, UVM, U Utah, U Arizona, ASU, UNM, to see if you could get the cost down to your budget. |

Try the University of Vermont. My DD applied there and received the presidential scholarship. She didn't end up going to UVM but they just contacted her and said they would honor the scholarship if she wanted to transfer for spring semester. UVM is very outdoorsy and it seems that there are both spaces and money available. Good luck!
Also, what about Appalachian State in NC? It's a great place for nature lovers. |
