Pippa is usually a nickname for Philippa, not a name on it's own.

Pip is cute for a very young child, but I'd have a hard time taking an adult that goes by "pip" seriously.

I love the name, but it you're talking about the mythology. She's a young maiden abducted and forced to live with her captor and eventually permitted to visit her parents for most of the year. But they then send her back to the man who kidnapper her for three months.
