Do you think you're a good or bad driver/parker... and why?

Let's self reflect...

I'm not that good of a driver, mostly because deep down I'm a little frightened of it and also tend to get lost in thought and distracted. That said, I've only ever been in one accident and it wasn't my fault.

I'm a pretty good parker, but helped along by the fact I have a smaller car so it's easier. I was actually once complemented on my parallel parking job by a stranger!

I'm an exceptional parker. (I back in whenever possible, which--yes, people--is safer for everyone.)

I am an impatient driver, though. I often have road rage, and I speed a lot. I know it, and I am working on it.

I'm an amazing driver and parker, except with my tahoe. I can't seem to get it between the lines the first try. I can park my highlander like a pro.

I can // park but can't back into a space.

I am a great driver but I can't drive fast. My friend actually is an amazing driver and has been hired to drive cars in commercials. I can't drive like that but he says he can tell I'm a good driver, he judges everybody he drives with or needs to follow.

I think I'm just logical, efficient and kind driver.

We were skiing in Colorado and my friend did a donut into our // parking space... haha, im not that good.

I can back into a space, but I have the gumption to know when I should just nose-in due to either other car being nose-in and near the line (hard for them to open door), or someone behind or approaching who would have to wait.

I'm a good driver and a good parker. I have good awareness of what's going on around me and good spatial awareness. I can parallel park in nearly any situation (uphill, downhill, either side of the street, any size space) and in only 1-2 attempts. I also have a good sense of direction so if I miss a turn or a road is randomly closed, I can generally find my way.

I’m a good driver and a totally horrible parker.

I follow a number of practices that I think make me an exceptional driver.

  • I don’t tailgate.

  • I generally drive in the right lane on highways and, related to this, I tend to drive the speed of the surrounding traffic rather than slavishly driving posted speed limits.

  • My policy for right turn on red, for changing lanes, for left hand turns where I yield: I do not want to cause other drivers to have to change speed.

  • I reserve use of my horn for serious situations, which is to say, I rarely use it.

I know I'm not that good and am aware of it, so I never ever drive distracted (phone stays in purse), I don't drive with my knees, etc. I also won't TRY to park in a space if I'm even the slightest bit unsure about being able to park easily.

Amazing driver - smooth like butter, fast reflexes, slow or fast speed. Never ever had an accident...zero road rage. People who sit with me driving comment on how smooth my driving is.

Ok parker normally, but cannot parallel park...not even with the automated parallel parking.

I'm a really good driver. When I first had my license at 16 (years ago) I gave a friend and her father a ride home from Arlington to Rockville. When we got there he commented that I was such a good driver that he had never had such a smooth and safe ride with anybody else including many adults. I've just gotten better since then.

I am a great parallel parker because I learned exactly how to do it in high school driver's ed. Do they not teach that anymore?

I'm also a really good driver because I always use my turn signals and never run through yellow or red lights.

I think I am an exceptional driver and Parker. But I am an aggressive driver as well.

I think I am a great driver. I leave lots of space between cars when driving and changing lanes. I accommodate other merging drivers and drive to speed o those around me (middle lane). Since I have gotten a new car (Mazda 3) my parking is not as good. I am very short and it is hard for me to see the front of the car. Parallel parking is also tough as I rarely do it.
