Players and teams get a hell of a lot better losing tough games than they do winning blowouts. It is too bad the focus is on rankings and not on 13 year old players' development. And too bad that some clubs apparently foster this by sandbagging.
So you went from a bunch of bitter non-athlete parents crying about said middle school team's ranking with accusations of sandbagging sans evidence -- to concluding the club isn't doing any developing of players as said crybabies must be correct.

And then joining in with the crying parents. Congrats.

You make zero sense.

It's fine, that's only because you have reading comprehension problems.

I second this. That was a terribly worded response.

To recap:
-Non-YJMA parents complain that YJMA plays certain tournaments and brackets to juice their rating.
- Poster comes on to say it's insane we're even talking about this about middle schoolers, yet here we are. (looks fine so far). - BUT, their conclusion is YJMA is doing a terrible job developing players because they're sandbagging for ratings (because crying non-YJMA parents say they are).

SO -- it's not insane that busybodies are complaining about it that haven't the slightest idea the who, what, why YJMA makes their schedule. Instead, their take is these people must be correct, and therefore YJMA must be doing a terrible job.

Hope this helps.

I'll take a guess. Another alumnus of W&M.

Did any PP and their DD attend the MD-Select tryout over the weekend? Was it well attended? How did local girls look?

There were around 80 2030s, from all of the top teams within a couple of hours and it was very competitive. Will be interesting to see who makes it.

Packed, lot of Hero's Green and MD United kids. Will be interesting if he takes top players or keeps his bread & butter players.

By “bread and butter” do you mean DD’s who are considering Good Counsel?

He could fill this team with just the talented girls from Hero’s, MDU, and BLC who tried out but I wonder if he’ll try to spread the wealth.
