bumps on the back of my arms

Anonymous
does anyone have a good way to get rid of them? i'm breastfeeding if that makes a difference.

I'd say exfoliate and then moisturize. Make sure you are using gentle cleansers on your skin (Dove, unscented) and gentle, unscented detergents on your clothes.

have you changed your hair products? I know some people get them as an allergic reaction to their shampoo / conditioner.

loofah + salicylic body wash = smooth arms

ok, so i'm beauty product stupid. how do you exfoliate...with a gel, or just with a loofah? i don't think its really enough.

i've had this problem for as long as i can remember, but now that my arms are getting flabbier, its making me super self-conscious about them.

I got those after my first pregnancy and they went away afterward so they may be hormonal. I have a friend who had them for years until she got pregnant. That said, I did find Eucerin Body Cream (Intensive I think it is called) worked to get rid of them, or lessen them, plus exfoliate with a body puff and soap--I like Olay Age-Defying. The Eucerin cream may even say something on the bottle about reducing bumps....if I get time later to pull mine out I will repost exact kind--should find it at CVS

OP, buy one of those net sponges at Bath and Body for $6. Use bath gel and use it there every day. Bumps gone - they are excess skin cells that have built up and clogged your skin.

Definitely hormonal. I always got them when pregnant/nursing. I had gotten so used to them I just checked and was surprised they are gone (stopped nursing a few months ago).

maybe this is what's happening. I've always had them, but they are much worse now that i'm nursing. oddly, the skin on my face is still great (it got much better with pregnancy).

It's called keratosis pilaris. You may want to try an exfoliating lotion with glycolic or lactic acid in it, and moisturize the heck out of that area.

Had it for years and then suddenly it cleared up. When that happened, I was glad.

Use equal parts olive oil and sugar, with a splash of almond or vanilla extract thrown in. Follow it up with soap and water to get some of the sliminess off, but it really helps. Also a great scrub for your hands.

A PP here: The cream I used is Eucerin Intensive Relief Body Cream--it is REALLY thick, but I found it cleared it up quickly.

Yes- DD has this and our dermatologist recommended "Am-Lactin" from Costo (can be purchased other places I believe).

Not sure about safety during breastfeeding, etc, but it works.

I also had this after pregnancy - it was hormonal. The only thing that worked was the Am-Lactin lotion (Costco, drugstore.com). Cleared it up in a few weeks.
