Tesla owners- please advice

In the market for a new car and considering tesla model y

is this a good car for everyday use, going to work, groceries, pick/drop kids, taking them to activities and games/

Will putting so many miles on a tesla and using it several times a day create a lot of maintenance costs in the future?

please share your experience

Maintenance costs are generally less than other vehicles, at least while you are under manufacturers warranty. It basically is just tire rotations and brake fluid checks.

There are other manufacturing issues that could come up, and Tesla service centers are a PITA to deal with.

Wait right now is long for orders, so test drive ASAP and put that order in it at all interested.

I have a Tesla you and a Tesla 3. No maintenance on Y since Jan and none on 3 over the past 2 years. There is no brake service because of regeneration so even the pads will last a while.

For what you need y is better than 3, but 3 is more fun to drive and for the same battery more range because of aerodynamics. Cargo space on Y vastly better, I can fit a full size bike without disassembly.

Tesla service is much better than anything I’ve had so far. For example I had a flat tire, they came to my house with a replacement wheel, put it on the car and I was good to go until they had the tire fixed.

Costeise it is comparable with a gas car that is about $10k cheaper because of savings in fuel and maintenance. Definitely recommend.

You can schedule a test drive at the time of your choice online. But the end of the quarter (which is now) is tough as there’s a huge push to sell as many vehicles as possible, including the test drive vehicles. So they may not have anything to test out until early next quarter. Try again next week.

Shoddy built quality. It may not show up in the first year or two, but it will show up and be expensive to address.

We have a model 3 that we are driving the wheels off of. Best car ever. Seems absurd and archaic to go to a gas station now.

Love both our Y and our 3. I prefer the Y b/c I like to sit higher, but the 3 is really fun to drive.

can it fit 5 comfortably for short-ish road trips?

We love our Y. Amazing for short and long trips. Congitsbly seats 5 and we have the optional 6th and 7th seat for rare occasions when we need to take more. Those are tight.
Tons of storage.,

We have a Y, with the third row seating, and use it for everything. No issues.

are they removable like some bigger suvs?

The third row on the Y folds down. It’s really only useable for little kids.

That said, we have enjoyed the past four months with our Y.
