The resolution is here. News story is here.
The resolution concludes:
One of the "whereas" clauses says the Board of Supervisors will "stringently review all appropriation requests from the School Board" to ensure funding isn't dedicated to the practices they denounce. The resolution doesn't go into any detail on what they mean by "critical race theory" or "teaching of the 1619 Project," so it's a little tough to know what kinds of things would trigger them to withhold funding. Some pedants would say that CRT is only an obscure school of legal theory that would never find its way to the classroom. Others might characterize CRT as anything that discusses racism as an ongoing thing. And there is a whole lot of ground in between. And, it's tough to say whether "teaching of the 1619 Project" just means having the kids read the essays from the news paper project. Or, would teaching about the events described in the newspaper project also cause consternation? |
Ohhhh, this is gonna make some people lose their shit. |
Truly amazing what a large portion of this country has devolved into blathering idiots.
This is pathetic. |
Totally support the school board here. 100%. It's time normal people push back against this nonsense. |
They should have stayed in their lane. They aren't educators. But nice to know the governing body of Stafford County, VIRGINIA is racist AF. Not surprising, I guess. But good know. |
Pray tell, what nonsense? I'm pushing back against the Stafford County Board of Supervisors meddling in the affairs of educators. Shame on them. Recall them. |
this I cannot with this percentage of the population. They have lost their dang minds |
Maybe more horse de-wormer will cure them! |
so glad my husband did not push more for us to move to stafford
they should be embarrassed, but they won't be |
We have the worst BOS in the state. And our school board is worthless. Our saving grace was Dr Kizner. And he’s leaving. One of the candidates said that Dr Kizner got cancer his from the Covid vaccine. Unreal. |
I should have added…..we are out of here in four weeks. |
Agree. Anyone who backs teaching the racist, divisive 1619 project in school is indeed a blathering idiot. Same goes for CRT. CRT = bigotry. |
NP. CRT is nonsense. The 1619 Project is nonsense. Both are bigotry and should never be taught. |
They should be proud of standing up for the truth and opposing CRT. |
+1000. Way to go, parents. |
