Jen Hatmaker

With this kind of love, they may go the distance.

BC JLK rhymes with MLK

Guess they're prolonging the agony until then. What. A. Joke.

Also further proof she should fire her media “team” if these are the bookings they are getting for her.

Who is Danielle Walker? Okay, quick Google.

So Jen is now playing second fiddle to a gluten free diet guru with 1/3 the IG followers? Isn't she on a gluten free journey these days? And what is Tyler's contribution to all of this?

And appearing where I wonder? This is sad….

Oh Tyler, never stop being black. So brave.

But MLK is no Dr. Ruth or Betty White or Barbara Walters!

Just saw a picture from her birthday post with Jen surrounded by like 20 women in a hotel room.

This is why I can’t take Jen’s racial advocacy seriously. When you make a huge portion of your career about women and lifting up other women and the importance of female friendships above all but you don’t allow any women of color near your inner circle despite living in one of the most diverse parts of the country, it shows a lot about true values.

This is why I think her "team" is terrible: they basically embrace the theory that Jen should do a million things and do them lazily and terribly as opposed to picking 1-2 and doing those 1-2 things exceptionally well. I guarantee she'd make more money by honing in on those 1-2 things that she could do well as opposed to shilling every single thing even when it makes zero sense. When a brand says no to an offer, it's because they don't think the partnership aligns well with their mission and values. The fact that she seems to never say no is really problematic for her. And here's the kicker - she's getting all of this good advice for free right here. Instead she's paying some "team" to give her bad advice.

Big Sis needs to go back to the basics and re-define her mission + vision.

I don’t mean any disrespect but are you serious? Two black children and a black life partner isn’t enough?

Oh please. I'm sure Jen would love to have a black friend. She showcases plenty of black authors and influencers and activists on her podcasts but those people all have something in common - they have a book or a product or a message to promote and someone in that circumstance is probably going to hop on any wagon that helps promote their current thing.

While Jen has adopted black children, those kids did not choose her. I'm not going to go down the road of why she adopted black kids and infer there's some kind of "Look at meeeee" motivation behind the adoptions because I don't know that. She and her husband made that decision for their family and it's not for me to pick apart.

Called Tyler Jen's "life partner" is a complete joke. Enough said about that, other than the performative "Look at my black boyfriend" every few weeks just to make sure everyone knows that she has a black boyfriend. GMAB.

I think most strong, smart black women would see through Jen's bullshit in a heartbeat. If she and her ridiculous gang of ride or dies could trot out a woman of color as their token bestie for photos and get away with marginalizing her and not letting her fully be a part of the "bestie cool girls group" she would totally do that.

Her racial advocacy is a performance when race is the hot discussion of the moment.

Pls define "life partner" in your language. Seeing someone a handful of times a year while they're on tour shilling their respective books organized by your mutual pubilicist does not make someone a life partner.

Commenting "BABY" on someone's Instagram posts then having them completly ignore you doesn't make someone a life partner.

Posting a happy birthday to my "girlfriend" who is halfway across the world on vacation without me and then making the rest of the post about me doesn't scream LIFE PARTNER.

I've always thought the women who fawn over Jen on IG have the intellectual capacity of a third grader.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the black "life partner" she paired with also has a friend group of mostly white women.

And while she has black children, they seem to have few black friends either. Despite living in the Austin area, she chose to raise them in Buda which is like 1% black.

I would actually like to hear an update from Brandon. It's been a few years since his podcast on the Healing Center and he's since gotten remarried and laid pretty low. I would love to hear his reflections in life after "fame", what he learned about being in the spotlight and what the real costs and rewards were. Basically how he's doing. He seems to be a semi success story from the sale class as his ex, the Hollis', Jami Ivery, etcetera.

Brandon. Quiet life. Lying low. Pursuing real estate sales and development. Remarried. Seems to be pretty happy.

Jen: Shilling 24/7. All over the place. No new books or TV shows. Barely there "boyfriend". Celebrating her 50th with a bunch of strangers.

Dave Hollis: RIP

Rachel Hollis: All over the place. No new books. Barely noticed anywhere anymore. The definition of a has-been.

Jami Ivey: Huge scandal. Gone silent, probably wisely.

Who else?

Sarah Bessey: Still the most precious of the dearest most precious. But not selling any books. In fact, demoaning this in her precious and most dear newsletter. Her yearly conference running on fumes.

I think Brandon has just moved on and seems to be pretty content. Maybe if Jen's next book is a tell-all - which would probably do decently in sales if she dared spill the tea - he'd respond but I think aside from that, he wants to live in privacy and wants the same for his kids. I could be wrong-o about this.

But I think we all know Jen's newest book, if it actually even happens, is about body image.

Literally did not know who Sarah Bessey or Jamie Ivey were without this thread. I always thought of her and Kristen Howerton in the same sentence but never had a clue about the other two.
