Plastic bags

It seems that in Fairfax county (VA) grocery stores will start charging 5 cents per plastic bag starting next year.

Do anyone know if H-Mart (Korean grocery) currently charges for plastic bags?

Welcome to the 21st century!

The "I drive my 8-seater SUV to Starbuck's for a single cup of coffee every day and my house is full of cr*p I don't need - what do they care if I ALSO get 74 pastic bags every time I step into a grocery store" style complaints on social media are pathetic!

It won't. Unless the taxman is standing at the self-checkout, I'll just enter zero bags and be on my way.

Seems kind of pointless then.

I want to say there were some places in MoCo where they removed the plastic bags from self checkout entirely.

The paper bags are there as a back up. People will bring their own bags.

In NY, HMart provides free paper bags. I don't remember if they charged for plastic before plastic bags were banned.
