Sounds like you'd rather the refugees were not rescued but were still back in Afghanistan.

Instead they're here, getting proper medical treatment. And since VA isn't an antivaxxing hot spot, they're in the right place.

What? I am not opposed to Afghans coming to the US. But, this evacuation was so poorly planned that they were not able to vet those who boarded the planes and did not have an efficient (or any) process for getting SIV holders and those who helped the US on the planes first. Blinken testified that pretty much anyone who showed up was allowed on.
It was a mess. And, these are the ramifications of a process that wasn't planned and executed properly.

The anti Vax movement started with misinformation about the MMR vaccine. My Dad's a pediatrician and the anti Vax stuff isn't new.


This doesn't pose a threat to the vaccinated population and the kids can get caught up in their vaccines too. This stuff takes time to administer and then to kick in.

Neither of my nieces (two separate sets of parents) are vaccinated against ANYTHING. One set of parents is religious conservatives, the other set is liberal. My kid is fully vaccinated for everything he’s eligible for at his age. I still can’t believe that we have gotten to this point as a society.
