Trapped 8th grader

MY DD was born in 2007 but she has a late birthday, so while majority of 07 kids are in HS this year, my DD is still in middle. Last month I emailed the DOC of our club because I hadn't seen nor heard anything about practices. We paid close to 3k in fees and now I'm finding out that my DD season will actually start in the Spring. I would like to know what other clubs are doing for those kids who are trapped. I'm also pissed that I'm paying alot of money for 1 season and tournaments/showcases.

Season for traps outside the trap world starts in November with league. Showcases and ECNL games in December - schedule is out on ECNL site

Is this in the DMV area? Seems very odd. Our team had team meetings, pre season camps and practices starting in late July (so really only had a month off). How are you just finding out mid Sept?

Our club offers practice for trapped players but no games.

Did you really ask "is this the dmv" area on a blog called DC urban mom and dads?

People post here from all over the US. There's even some forums dedicated to other areas - Chicago, San Fran, etc. And guess what people who aren't moms or dads post on these forums all the time.

Isn't the HS season in the spring up here? At least, for the public school plebes?

HS Soccer in MCPS is Fall. I believe most/all HS Soccer in Northern VA is Spring.

My DD will be a trapped 8th grade next year. We will have to ask our Coach after this season about the team/club plan in order to have time to try out for other clubs/teams during Spring 2022.

everyone else paid the same fees you did.

you must be in maryland. Virginia teams don't take the season off for kids to play high school instead of club. Kids do both.

I think Mclean ECNL might take some time off but I think that's it.
