Bored with weight loss, want to maintain for a while

Anonymous
I've lost 20 pounds since April and am close to my goal weight. I have about 5 pounds to go but I'm bored. I want to stop losing weight, practice maintaining, and work on some fitness goals.

I'm worried that maintenance will be hard and I'm anxious to see how I handle it. I want to practice non-scale victories and gain muscle. I feel like it's been harder to gain muscle with my current calorie deficit. Right now, I'm planning to switch to maintenance at the end of this month when I turn 47 and maintain my current weight (during the holidays!!) until the big diet restart day of January 1.

Anyone take a break and practice maintenance? If so, how did it go?

I’m feeling this too! Last week was the official 6 month mark of my post having babies diet. I’m down 32 lbs and back to what I weighed when we got married, but my goal weight was still 4lbs more. I’m over it too and ready to just call it a day and buy a new wardrobe.

I lost 25 lbs from Jan to Jun, and have been maintaining since with plans to pick it back up and lose another 10 or so. For me that just meant easing back a bit on IF, and I’ll tighten it up again when I’m back on the weight loss train.
