| DS sees the other kids’ Yay lunch and is thankful for his packed lunch. He thinks — and they report — that it is overwhelmingly “gross”. I toss some of the previous night’s leftovers in a lunch box with some fruit and he’s good to go. Economical, healthy, and food I know he’ll enjoy & actually eat. |

Well, apparently things aren’t going well for Yay Lunch. Got this message through our school today. Not surprised at all, the service just got worse and more limited over time.
"It is with a heavy heart that we are writing to inform you that The Yay Company will have to cease operations in your school this semester. This interruption in service is unforeseen and unfortunately due to operational constraints that are outside of our control. We aim to service you as close to the end of the calendar year as possible but expect disruption in service and are recommending November 17th as your last day." |

| Hmm, nothing from yay lunch or SSSAS about stopping there, but maybe it’ll still happen. Would t be surprised if it shows up in tomorrow’s weekly newsletter. The school has added two other lunch options in the meantime because yay has been so terrible. My kid packs lunch anyway, but says he sees almost no one using it anymore. |

No more Yay Lunch at Lowell School as of today.
Does anyone at a dc school like their outside hot lunch provider?? |

No more Yay at Burke either. They said they are already in talks with a new vendor, but didn’t say who it is. |

SSSAS did, but the dining hall is part of the area under construction this year, and yay lunch was supposed to fill the gap. The school will offer onsite lunch again once the rebuild is done. |

| Well now I keep expecting an email canceling yay lunch every time I look. We don’t use it, but from DC’s reports of problems, I wouldn’t be surprised. |
