Do you judge them for driving something so gaudy? Are they otherwise normal or does it tease out character, career and/or other background deficiencies?
|
| I really wonder what makes someone buy a vehicle like this. |
| Aren't these pretty common cars? How are they any more "gaudy" than other luxury cars? |
| Yes. She is a realtor. Does not seem too out of character since she's a realtor, but DH and I laugh about behind her back. |
| Not anymore, but there was a time when they seemed pretty popular and no, none of the owners that I knew had any "deficiencies". What a strange thought. |
| My friends in Montana. |
| No, I don't drive one, but I am confused. What is so objectionable about these? Is it the size or simply that it's a luxury brand? Is driving a Lexus station wagon gaudy as well? |
| FFX count? Carpool line, big shiny white one. I'd like to try one myself. |
| Uh yes. I live in Texas. Not out of the ordinary at all and there's no perceived stigma. What's the issue here? |
Of course that counts. Who's the driver? |
| The look the same as all the other obnoxious huge SUV's with VA and MD plates that speed through my DC neighborhood as a cut through. |

Why is an escalde any more gaudy than a s-class benz, a 5-series BMW, a Lexus or Infinity, or any other status car?
I think Teslas are more vulgar than escalades, simply because of the smugness factor associated with them. |
Maybe you should live on a farm out in the middle of nowhere if you dislike being in a city that much. |
|
The company CEO, but I think the company owns them not him.
I judge him personally as "pretty fucking awesome". |
You sound nice. I would think something like this would make a lot of sense for a realtor, actually. Doesn't she spend a lot of time showing people houses? If she is driving multiple people around, wouldn't a big, comfortable car make sense for this job? |
