What a horrible tragedy. I hate how everyone in the comments ids blaming the parents-the appears to be a freak accident.

5 year old boy dies at popular Atlanta restaurant http://a.msn.com/01/en-us/BBzSdsw?ocid=st

Still trying to figure out how this incident happened and how it could have been prevented

Sadly, child was a few feet away and not being supervised by a parent. Child should have been sitting at the table but somehow got caught in the floor and died.

Children do wander off sometimes-this apparently happened very quickly. I often see kids getting up in restaurants and walking around-not ideal, but it happens

Wow how awful! I too don't understand how that could have happened especially since it said he had head injuries - not that he lost a foot or something. The gap between the wall and floor seems pretty large.

They say the gap was 4-5 inches-how the hell does a 5 year old fit in that size gap? I could see an arm or leg getting hurt but not the entire kid. Very sad.

seems like businesses must think of everything to protect clients-perhaps they should have put a guard rail between the end of the rotating floor and the stationary part. This really is just a freak accident-who could have foresaw such a thing?

Yea, that's why I didn't get the head injury. The 4-5" gap seems like a bad idea tho. Seems very easy for anyone to get their foot stuck in if they approach the window to look at the views.

Not when they are sitting and parents are supervising. Mine know not to get out of the seat without our permission and if they need to go somewhere a parent goes. They probably had clothing or a shoe get caught.

Ugh. Stuff like this makes me sick. You look away for a minute and it's tragic.

Where does it say the kid wasn't being supervised?

Do you know all the facts? Sounds like you are blaming the parents, the way Internet shamers blamed the parents of the kid who was dragged under by the alligator in Disney.

Child was a few feet from parents. With Disney, there were signs, child wander where they should not be. It was tragic but part of it was on the parents.

Disney kid was in water at 9pm at night and 2 years old-not the same as a 5 year old 5 feet away in a restaurant at lunchtime. 5 feet is not that far away!

I partially blame Disney parents, totally blame Harambe parents, but without more details, have a hard time blaming these parents. The internet, of course, is slaughtering them.

What about that ex-NFL player who drove over and killed his 3 year old? Just give me a gun, so I could off myself. I cannot imagine.
