That's really cheap for that many people. Where did you skimp out?

$25K in 1996, all in, for 60 guests at a downtown hotel, including the ceremony, cocktail hour, all food, open bar, the cake, the dress, the flowers, the live string quartet, the photographer, two nights lodging, the honeymoon to Europe and everything else I can't remember now.

I thought it was insane at the time.

$10K for a Sunday lunch wedding in a country club in Reston in 2009. Includes all food, booze, cocktail apps, venue, flowers, decor, DJ, photog and cake. Doesn't include the dress or the honeymoon.

We set ourselves this goal and had fun meeting it.

$26k for 110 guests, dinner, DJ, open bar at the Arts Club of Washington in downtown DC. Location is an art museum/venue so no decorating necessary. My dress was $250 J Crew off the rack and gorgeous. We spent $8k on alcohol, worth ever penny haha. It was so much fun, and we put it together in 3 months.

That included everything but the rings (rental fee, happy hour food, plated steak with crab cake dinner, cake, flowers, DJ, open bar, dress, invitations, photographer, etc.). We really shopped around for our vendors. I hear that the Inn caught on that their pricing was low and they've bumped up the rates a bit since then.

One of the most wonderful memories I have as a guest was to a small, intimate wedding reception at the Mount Vernon Inn.

2002 at the Washington Club on DuPont Circle, 180 people, Saturday night, catered, full bar, live band, I think it was around $30K for the wedding, the rehearsal dinner for 150 was $14K. Parents contributed about half the combined cost. The venue was beautiful but is no longer an option as I think it has been converted to apartments.

Totally worth it to me, wonderful weekend DH and I will never forget, he did half the work/planning, still happily married

$35k for 85 people in 2014 at a resort in Loudoun.

That's almost $1000/guest. When was this? Also curious who paid for the wedding? Parents? (If so whose) or you? Seems comparable to costs in India for a high-end wedding (200K would have been Rs. 1.4 crores)

Most boys parents pay equal to brides It's 2019 after all

We paid for DDs wedding. The grooms parents paid for the rehearsal dinner. In 2019. And that’s the case for most people I know whose kids are getting married.
