| From an average height girl. JW. |

YES. I'm 5'9. Husband is just a little taller than me.
FWIW, I hates my height while growing up. Now, I love my athletic frame and long legs. I wear high heels whenever I want, too. |
| Hated* ^ |
| I am five eight. The men in DC are so short. I'd rather be five six. Then most men are taller than you - broadens your dating options. |
| I am 5'8" and I like being tall. My cousin is 6' and she likes being tall as well. I am a tall, strong woman and I wouldn't want it any other way. |
| Yes! I love, love, LOVE being tall! |
| I'm 5'9 1/2. Hated it until I hit my 20's. now I love it! |
| Love it and i wear herls. Usually im over 6. |
| I'm 5.10. I love it (or don't think too much about it). 8 don't wear heels but now that I'm divorced, I literally realize that half the pool is eliminated just on height. I dated shorter guys but I don't like it. |
|
I'm 6'1". I don't have any choice about it, so I may as well like it.
Also, height never stopped me dating ANYONE. |
|
I'm 5'10" and I'd say I like it 90% of the time. I like being able to reach things that are high up. I feel safer walking around by myself. I feel like people take you more seriously in professional settings. I don't wear heels anyway-so that element doesn't bother me.
Every once in a while I wish I was one of those petite women that men can feel protective about-I don't get that from most of the men I've been with. I'm getting divorced now, and I suspect I'll lament my height more when dating again. |
| I'm 5' 8" and live it. Perfect in flats and I also wear super high heels a lot. |
| Yes. |
| I"m 5'8" and wish I had been taller! But I like where I am, especially now that average length slacks are now long enough for me! |
|
I'm 5'9" and rarely wish I was shorter. I generally feel more secure, especially when traveling or by myself downtown - it has been my experience that shorter women tend to be more of a target for harassment (although I am still very cautious about personal security). A few extra pounds don't show up as easily as on shorter women.
Downsides are I'm right at a height where long pants are too long and regulars are often too short. But off the rack clothes rarely fit right on anyone, so it isn't that big of a deal. Physically, I do prefer bigger, taller men... but my husband is the same height as I am and about 10 lbs lighter. In my fantasies I love the big burly dudes though (and I dated plenty of them... but my husband is a much better life partner and the height thing isn't an issue in the real world). |
