If friend had left a diaper bag/backpack or something I would not have opened it and gone through the contents. I would have asked when I called though of there was anything inside needing to be tossed (a diaper or something)
If it was obviously just a food/bottle bag I would have opened it and washed items and tossed old food. |
Good distinction. I assumed we were talking about a cooler where it was apparent it was food. |
| I would have washed the dishes, but if I were the other friend, I would not have made a face (or even checked the bag). |
|
she probably made a face because it was stinky.
OP, I hope you realize there's no reason to take this any further. |
|
I wouldn't have opened it. I friend left a bag from Thanksgiving and now I guess I should open it up.
Also, if Chipotle Lady was said friend, I would leave it stinky on purpose. |
| Yes, she's my friend. Of course I'd do whatever I could to make her life easier. |
| Probably would have washed. |
| If I were the friend with the dirty dishes I would have washed them. If I were the friend receiving the re-washed dishes back, I still would have re-washed them.. OCD |
| I am assuming the CL is friend A. Because if she was friend B, she wouldnt know why A was making the funny face, she wouldn't know it was bc the dishes were unwashed. |
If you have a young kid around the same age and tossed the stuff into the dishwasher, what's the probability that you would have remembered all of the correct pieces and tops and containers to put back into the bag? |
|
Not necessarily. I doubt I would have looked in the bag. Or it is very possible I would not have remembered that a child had a bottle and/or snack.
If I had done anything, it would have been to rinse out the bottle or snack container. I doubt I would have actually washed them. Depending on what the snack item was, I may have simply wiped that container with a paper towel. |
|
I wouldn't open my friends bag so, no, the dishes would not have been washed.
If they had just been left at my house used then, yes, I would have washed them. The issue for me is privacy -- I don't open other people's bags. |
|
I'd have no objection to washing them but if I didn't know what was in the bag, I wouldn't pry.
If I had left the bag at a friends and it was returned unwashed, I wouldn't think anything of it. It'd be different if it was a plate or bowl I brought food in to share at a dinner or something. But I left the bag there accidentally with no expectation of it being cleaned so I assume responsibility for what was in it. |
