CBS Canceled Shows

I really enjoy So Help Me Todd. I'm bummed about that one.

Young Sheldon feels like the right time to end it. It's the natural timeline that was established in TBBT. We learned on that show that Sheldon went to CalTech at age 14. He was also 14 when George died. It's a comedy so they probably didn't want to deal with the heavy topics surrounding death. We learned watching TBBT that the Cooper family fell apart after George's death and Georgie had to hold it all together while Sheldon was off in college. Perhaps the new Georgie and Mandy show will a dramady instead of a straight comedy. I don't know if I'll watch it or not.

I tried CSI Vegas because I loved the original but this new reboot was terrible.

The best show on CBS atm is Ghosts. If you don't watch it, you really should. The UK version is great as well and it is on Paramount+.

So Help Me Todd is good, sad they are cancelling it.

Like Young Sheldon but it seems to be a good stopping point.

Have really enjoyed the CBS Thursday line up this year, Young Sheldon, Ghosts, So Help Me Todd, and now Elspeth. A lot of humor along with some drama has been fun, and a break from the boring reality shows.

Blue Bloods is an hour-long drama show. My dad watches for Tom Sellack and the storyline (we're from NY). NYPD as a whole always watches shows about NYPD. All the New Kids on the Block fans watch for Donnie Wahlberg. Personally, I've always been a Will Estes fan, since he was on Lassie.

Do you think George's death will be covered in Young Sheldon and/or the spin off?

Agree about Ghosts. Both versions are fantastic.

+1. I don't watch anything on there except the occasional newscast clip on Youtube.

"But in the most recent network television season, which ended in May, the median viewer was older than 60 for most entertainment shows, including “The Voice” (64.8), “The Masked Singer” (60.6), “Grey’s Anatomy” (64.1) and “Young Sheldon” (“65+,” the highest range that Nielsen provides)."

Ah. So it's *that* generation.

I'm not part of "that" generation, but I do watch a few network shows. Some people want to flex that they only watch streaming services, like that's better than watching network TV.

Cancelling NCIS Hawaii stinks. It’s a great show and leaving us with the Maggie cliffhanger really wasn’t thought through.

I'm in my 50s and the only network shows I watch are on CBS on Thursday nights, mainly because I need some comedy in my life along with the drama.

The fact that one even knows what CBS is dates a person. My niece is in high school and has never heard of the networks. No one in her family or ours has cable anymore, so the idea of associating a show with a three letter network seems really foreign these days. No such thing as a “channel” or a “timeslot” anymore either.

Don't be an agist feck. The last one got deleted off this thread for it.

We also like So Help Me Todd. I will always remember watching it with my teen during the pandemic. Somehow it made the world seem normal.

I think I’m done with network TV. Every time I like a show it gets canceled. The last show I watched was The Company You Keep and it got the axe its first season. I don’t have to watch the latest show as it comes out. I’d rather wait for a show to finish, so I know I won’t be left hanging with unfinished story arcs, and then binge the series.
