CBS is trying to find someone to buy them. So far SONY is interested. Perhaps their reason for getting rid of high costs shows.
Also if you look at CBS lineup they actually have more entertainment shows vs the other two networks who seem to have a lot of reality or news shows. |

I actually enjoyed NCIS Hawaii, so of course it's the one that got the ax. The latest season was a bit strange since they invested a ton of storyline into incorporating LL Cool J's character. But I really liked the landscape and the touches of legit Hawaiian culture. It seemed pretty authentic.
I checked out some of the cast's social media and it seems like they were kind of blindsided by it too. |
My biggest complaint is last season almost every episode started and ended with one relationship (if you watch you know which one). The couple had no chemistry and the relationship seemed to be shoved down our throats. I mostly didn’t like it because there were other relationships that could have been highlighted. Example, one character married with kids, met one kid and never met the wife. |
| I stopped watching blue bloods what feels like 10 yrs ago and I thought it had ended back then! |
It’s time to end. You can almost predict the script. |

Thank God it’s not Ghosts!!
I wanted to like So Help Me Todd but I watched a couple episodes and thought the writing was terrible. I having the same issue with Elspeth. I can suspend belief a bit on these shows but it’s just ridiculous the way she interferes with crime scenes, questions suspects without advising them she’s with the police, and always just knows immediately who the killer is because of some dumb think like they offered an additional detail or itched their nose or something. (This eeems like the prequel to a show about the Innocence Project — that weird lady set me up because she didn’t like my socks!). It’s not like Monk— now that was a good show. Or The Good Detective — that one was also good. Writing has gotten so lazy now. |
Yeah I can't hate on that relationship but it did seem to be the only one that mattered, and they hinted at so many other storylines that would've been interesting, I think. Jesse's family referenced but brought in, Kai went to therapy ONCE to discuss his war trauma and then was dropped, some sparks of something interesting in Tennant's personal life, but nevermind show's over. And every episode this season was just each character's turn to dance with Sam Hanna to get him integrated. Anyway. Not that I was invested or anything. |
| Never got into Sheldon and Bob. Watched a couple episodes of NCIS:Sydney, I thought it would be cancelled before Hawaii. I like So help me Todd! It’s time for the others to go. |
| I’m watching so help me Todd and am bummed it’s canceled. It kinda reminds me of psych or one of those other low stakes murder shows. I mean it’s so silly- I just watched an episode where the lawyer- not the police - served a warrant. But it’s lovely how the crime is solved and wrapped up by the end and everything is ok! Maybe it will get picked up somewhere else? |
Maybe LL Cool J will move to Sydney? |
That's what it boils down to. CBS has sports which force cable companies to carry it. Cord cutting is prevalent and accelerating. Most networks and cable stations are just putting on the cheapest programming they can acquire and milking broadcast and cable as much as they can while they still can. |
"But in the most recent network television season, which ended in May, the median viewer was older than 60 for most entertainment shows, including “The Voice” (64.8), “The Masked Singer” (60.6), “Grey’s Anatomy” (64.1) and “Young Sheldon” (“65+,” the highest range that Nielsen provides)." https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/23/business/media/tv-networks-streaming-boomers.html |
They have zero chemistry. That’s why it became unwatchable. |
We stream Ghosts via Amazon. It's a really good show. Most of what we watch is more prestige-y but we truly love this show. |
