This was incredible. So much artistry in addition to the unprecedented quads.

She’s an American by birth, hoping to get Canadian citizenship by the time of the 2026 Olympics!

Not really.

He has a long way to go in that regard.

Actually, he’s already come a long way. And at only 19, he has years to refine his artistry and raise his component scores. In the meantime, he certainly skated with total conviction and captivated the audience in both his short and the free. Jason Brown was also absolutely brilliant. Overall, it was a great season for Team USA.

I agree that he has years to refine his artistry. Hopefully, he can follow in the footsteps of Brian Boitano, who clumped around the ring until Sandra Bezic got him. But Malinin was definitely overmarked in artistry in THIS world championships. Acknowledging that doesn’t take away from his historic technical achievements.

It was the most amazing 4 minutes of skating I have ever witnesses (I have followed the sport closely for over 50 years). Malinin has it all! As my teen students like to say, that’s aura.

Really hoping he can pull it together for Worlds in Prague. He was electric in his post-Olympic performances in Zurich and a win would be redemptive.

He was instrumental in the US getting that team gold. He should be proud of his performance.
