VA is #4 Most Confrontational Drivers 2023

VA has been accusing the MD drivers of being the bad drivers for so long that they actually believe it even though those stats are years old. New stats show that VA drivers have become more consumed by road rage and are more violent drivers now. But they don't believe in the change.

When I am on the beltway and in MD, a lot of the really crazy drivers have VA plates. So you may see crazy drivers in VA with MD plates, but on our side of the river we se a lot of crazy drivers with VA plates. It seems to be that the ones that drive further distances and sit in traffic more hours of the day are the ones that are the crazy drivers. I live near Ft Mead and since the BRAC realignment a few years ago, we see a ton of VA plates for people who didn't want to move and just commute up here. The crazy ones that don't pay attention to the exits and try to exit from 1, 2 or even 3 (yes, I saw one that did cross 3 lanes of traffic at over 60 mph to "make" an exit and nearly caused a multi-vehicle pile-up) are VA drivers. The ones that cut people off or close ranks to prevent people from zipper merging? VA drivers. The ones that run red lights? VA drivers.

Virginia’s score: 96.97 out of 100

- Virginia drivers were third most likely to report that another driver has exited their vehicle to yell at or fight with them (50.5%), honked at them in frustration (78.5%) and yelled at them, insulted them, cursed at them or made threats (89.5%).

- Drivers in the Old Dominion State tied with Oklahoma drivers for being fourth most likely to report that another driver has cut them off on purpose (59.5%).

- Virginia drivers also tied with Missouri drivers for being fifth most likely to experience rude or offensive gestures while driving (67%).

Forced off the road: 10.50%
Blocked from changing lanes: 52.00%
Cut off on purpose: 59.50%
Yelled at, Insulted or Threatened: 89.50%

Lots of VA drivers taking "Don't tread on me" a bit too seriously.

Seems like a lot of angry people in Va. Only AZ, RI, and WV are less angry than VA drivers.

And before you ask, MD is #19. DC not ranked.

And you say we (MD drivers) are the worst!! Lol

Anyone who thinks VA drivers are worse than MD hasn't spent much time in PG.

They drive really fast in PG, but they are way better drivers than VA drivers.

All the stats in the Forbes article relate to people driving 50 mph in the far left lane — a situation all too common in VA.

Wut? Source? How does this relate to the survey results?
