I wouldn't say ECNL-R is trash, but there are only a handful of competitive clubs in it. It is not a well rounded league by any stretch. Beach competes in good tournaments. I see their teams in enough brackets. They play who they can for where they are located. Like a previous poster said, there isn't a bunch of ECNL teams near them, so not sure what else they could do.

It is all relative. I have two kids in ECNL and the ECNL groups normally only have a handful of competitive teams as well at a given age group. The bottom half of the ECNL groups are not very good (relatively) either which makes it not well rounded just like you can say for the ECNL-RL. The top of ECNL-R is not trash and can compete, even with the middle of the ECNL teams when given a chance. A few examples - this past weekend at CASL. Beach 06 boys lost to NCFC ECNL 2-1 and watching the match, Beach was the better team. Richmond Kickers 06 boys lost to NC Fusion ECNL 2-1 but outplayed them and then turned around and beat NCFC ECNL 1-0 the next day, again outplaying them. I was surprised to see how good those two boys teams were to watch. The top of ECNL-R is very competitive just like the top of ECNL is. after that, there is a significant drop off compared to their respective levels. Looking at the results further it looks like that same kickers 06 team also beat UFA RL 2-0 and that UFA RL team was at the SC ECNL Showcase last weekend and were very competitive vs ECNL teams when they played. This is a couple of examples but I have seen it elsewhere when top half ECNL-R teams play vs ECNL teams.

Beach FC 09 boys got to the finals in the top bracket of that CASL tourney and then lost to a very good Pipeline team. In fact, I'd say that 09 Pipeline team is better than their 08's, cuz I watched both games, but didn't have a player in either...long story. I saw the Beach FC 08's won their bracket beating 3 ECNL teams from NC. Either way, the top of ECNL-R could easily swap with the bottom of ECNL.

The Beach FC girls won the ECNL RL Playoffs in the 04, 05, 06, and 07 age groups. I think they need to move up.

Beach is a strong club. Legacy was a strong club, not anymore. Richmond United get kids from there doubt they would let them in. If Beach doesn’t get in within the next year or two they will start to look for something else.

Good luck with your search. Due to their geographic location, Beach will have hard time finding a competitive league. Their teams are not at the ECNL level so ECNL-R might be a better fit.

Beach, Legacy and Kickers are all at the level of BRYC, VDA or McLean.

This is why they invented pro/rel. Incentive to get better or stay better. There will always be a team, outside of the usual power structure, who performs well against the established clubs. That is a good thing. Clubs get used to the same type players and coaches that get them wins, but things change. Always need to be open to what else is out there.

I think pro/rel eventually happens on a team by team basis, but it might take 5 years. They are going to be focused more on expanding the Regional leagues in the short term.

Same reason Brazilian players have a hard time competing in Europe. It's because of their geography. Good logic.

Yes, their top teams can be competitive against B teams of ECNL clubs. Not sure about BRYC, but VDA and McLean's top teams are head and shoulders above the top teams from ECNL-R clubs.

This is a very sweeping statement which is not necessarily accurate. It really depends on the age group. Here are 3 examples in one age group. I am confident VA Rush 2006 (CCL, not ECNL-R), Beach Red 2006 and Kickers 2006 boys can compete with VDA and McLean ECNL. They have just shown this recently. VA Rush tied both VDA ECNL and Baltimore Celtic ECNL at the Bathesda showcase and the Beach/Kickers teams beat and/or competed nicely with NC Fusion ECNL and NCFC ECNL at CASL. Many of the the top teams in other ages have shown the same (u19 Beach red girls tied McLean ECNL recently, etc.). There is plenty of talented teams out there at the top of ECNL-R that can compete and these teams are clearly not head and shoulders behind VDA & McLean ECNL among other ECNL teams.

Beach is next for ECNL-probably in 2022.

Not sure why you exclude Loudoun. VDA won 3, tied 2 and lost 1 vs. Loudoun last weekend.

I think Beach, Legacy and Kickers stronger teams are certainly at a level where they can compete at the ECNL level.
