Beach and Legacy both deserve ECNL slots. They are both strong clubs on both the boys and girls sides and through all age groups and there are no ECNL clubs near by.
Beach is a strong club. Legacy was a strong club, not anymore. Richmond United get kids from there doubt they would let them in. If Beach doesn’t get in within the next year or two they will start to look for something else.
Good luck with your search. Due to their geographic location, Beach will have hard time finding a competitive league. Their teams are not at the ECNL level so ECNL-R might be a better fit.
Beach, Legacy and Kickers are all at the level of BRYC, VDA or McLean.
Yes, their top teams can be competitive against B teams of ECNL clubs. Not sure about BRYC, but VDA and McLean's top teams are head and shoulders above the top teams from ECNL-R clubs.
This is a very sweeping statement which is not necessarily accurate. It really depends on the age group. Here are 3 examples in one age group. I am confident VA Rush 2006 (CCL, not ECNL-R), Beach Red 2006 and Kickers 2006 boys can compete with VDA and McLean ECNL. They have just shown this recently. VA Rush tied both VDA ECNL and Baltimore Celtic ECNL at the Bathesda showcase and the Beach/Kickers teams beat and/or competed nicely with NC Fusion ECNL and NCFC ECNL at CASL. Many of the the top teams in other ages have shown the same (u19 Beach red girls tied McLean ECNL recently, etc.). There is plenty of talented teams out there at the top of ECNL-R that can compete and these teams are clearly not head and shoulders behind VDA & McLean ECNL among other ECNL teams.
